AMI’s Reflections: Artistic Director Kevin Jesuino Talks Theatre Terrific’s Legacy & Future

At Theatre Terrific, we believe that when creative minds combine self-expression with a bit of theatre magic, anything is possible. For decades, our mission has been to lead the way in inclusive, barrier-free performing arts, proving that every body, voice, and story belongs on stage.

Our Artistic Director, Kevin Jesuino, recently sat down with host Kelly MacDonald on AMI’s podcast Reflections for an insightful episode titled Talking Accessible Theatre: Learning Our Role.

In this feature episode, Kevin joins other incredible pioneers in the accessible arts space, including the team behind Omnium Circus and multidisciplinary artist Sara Porter, to share how inclusive storytelling is changing the performing arts landscape. During the conversation, Kevin dives into how Theatre Terrific continues to push creative boundaries by creating space for artists of all abilities and neurotypes. He also highlights why accessible theatre is about centering disabled and neurodivergent voices in the creative process rather than just making spaces available, while showcasing how inclusive arts foster connection and inspire broader community change.

Whether you are a long-time supporter of Theatre Terrific or new to our community, this conversation offers a wonderful look into the heart of our mission and the broader movement for accessible arts across Canada.

You can listen to the full episode on Simplecast, stream it on AMI+, or find it wherever you get your favourite podcasts.
