Theatre Terrific is seeking a dynamic, responsible, self-driven, service-oriented and preferably trauma-sensitive individual who will help us meet our financial goals by developing, driving and growing the theatre’s corporate sponsorship program to diversify the theatre’s funding streams.

Role Description

Reporting to, and working closely with Theatre Terrific’s managing director, and its Board of Directors when required, the Chief Philanthropy Officer / Corporate Sponsorship Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a corporate sponsorship program to help the theater diversify its funding streams.

 

Key Highlights:

  • Position

    • Part time contractual Chief Philanthropy Officer / Corporate Sponsorship Development Coordinator (further referred to as CPO). 

    • Position may be renewed upon completion of this project and potential for turning it into a full time position considered.

    • The CPO will be provided with an email address and access to the organization's resources.

 

  • Primary objective of the CPO: 

    • Assess and develop TTS’s current donor programs; build internal capacity as related to fundraising -specifically new revenue generation and diversification via corporate sponsorships.

 

  • Key milestones & deliverables:

    • Create a Strategic Plan (to be reviewed by the Board) within the first 3 months or less.

      • Strategic Plan objectives: 

        • Identify opportunities for:

          • networking and engagement with potential sponsors and partnerships, 

          • creating and deepening TTS’s corporate sponsorship program, and 

          • finding alternative funding streams (alternative to grants) and ways of increasing individual/corporate donations.

          • financial targets and viable means to reach them.

        • Create: 

          • personalized sponsorship packages, 

          • a strategic outreach/communications campaign related to engaging with potential partners (including, but not limited to, targeted newsletters).

    • Implement Plan. 

    • Report on findings along the way.

    • 6 months check-in and re-setting of goals based on lessons learned.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree is required with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience with a record of achievement that demonstrates successful fund development and client relationship skill and experience.

  • Exceptional communication skills, articulate with the ability to relate to the voluntary sector, donors and members to establish a rapport and credibility with a range of people. 

  • Excellent written and presentation skills.

  • Experience developing and implementing fundraising activities and events, and developing and maintaining strong donor relationships.

  • Knowledge of current fundraising industry information, tax issues, and planned giving vehicles to ensure maximum opportunities presented for gift commitments.

  • Experience in and understanding of the arts sector, and of the nonprofitnon profit sector (charitable organizations)

  • Strong networks and networking skills

  • Broad experience dealing with customers/donors as well as financial, legal and corporate professionals, in a variety of work and social settings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and fundraising database.

  • Grant writing skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Relationship building and donor relation and retention skills.

  • Proven organizational skills, strong administrative skills, is efficient and able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Strong lateral thinking and ability to independently solve problems.

What do we offer? This is a part time contractual position, subject to becoming full time based on performance, (15 to 20 hours/week) with an expectation to meet milestones and deliverables identified. Annual pay is $25K to $30K (taxes in) to begin depending on experience and subject to re-negotiation based on performance. Flexible working arrangements.

Theatre Terrific is seeking a financially experienced individual to join the Board of Directors as Treasurer!

 

Someone interested in committing to the long term success of Theatre Terrific.

 

Someone that would welcome and be inspired by the opportunity to support an inclusive organization and enable it to explore, express, and create thought-provoking theatre with artists that tend to be left behind by mainstream theatre.


 

General Role Description:

Join a Volunteer Board of enthusiastic and passionate individuals who are committed to providing performance and creation opportunities for all individuals, no matter their abilities. We are seeking an engaged Board Treasurer who will strengthen our ability to fulfill our vision: supporting artists of all abilities in the rigorous creation of provocative theatre.

 

The Board meets monthly to quarterly, in person or online, and receives regular updates from the Artistic Director and Managing Director. The Treasurer works directly with the Managing Director to review the theatre’s financial status, in support of projects, operations and grant applications. The organization has a bookkeeper who works with the Managing Director to execute daily operations and the accounting processes.

 

Ideally you would have experience with the arts community; or the disability community; or with a non-profit organization. For this position specifically a strong and proven background in financial management will be required. This is a volunteer position.

Job Description (specifics)

  • Liaise with staff responsible for the day-to-day operations and recordkeeping.

  • Oversee the financial matters of the charity at the strategic level.

  • Assume a leadership role on Board committee or initiatives related to financial matters.

  • Ensure the financial components of the T3010B Information Return are completed in an accurate
    and timely manner.
