Everyone can help develop a new show at Theatre Terrific. Every six months, we host a theatre creation class with a diverse ensemble, led by a professional director or performance maker. Building on our 40-year legacy of inclusive productions, this course is a rigorous, hands-on laboratory.
You will explore diverse methods to build original shows, develop staging, and create theatre that engages with the world today. This class focuses on the essential skills of collective storytelling and ensemble creation. Whether you're new to the stage or looking to sharpen your craft, you will learn how to transform personal curiosities into vivid live performances. The course concludes with a workshopped presentation of the work created in class.
Upon completion of this class, you are invited to audition for our Summer Production. Each Summer we develop the ideas we created in Theatre Creation into a full production that we perform at the Vancouver Fringe Festival (September) and Heart of the City Festival (October). This is an optional opportunity; you are welcome to take the class without commitment to participating in the Summer Production.
