Workin' is a satirical look at the world of work. Come and see the workin' world of Joe Sledge's machine shop, and enter a world of muscles, mind, 'magination and machinery'.
What is work? We have discovered that it is something that we all want to do, that we do it in many different ways, that it often has a hierarchy, that it can be very hard, that it requires co-operation, attention to others, attention to difficult details and that sometimes; someone's definition of work is very different and doesn't fit with everyone else's.
"I long to accomplish great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker."
Helen Keller
Theatre Terrific presents workin’, a hilarious look the workin’ world of Joe Sledge. Joe runs a heavy duty mechanics shop; his accountant, Mr. Fingbutt, says his realization principle is askew; and Mellita, the love of his life, is stealing his tooth lock washers, hex lag screws and wing nuts for her latest artistic creation. The assembly line is workin’ overtime!
