Clothes. Why are they so important?
Virginia Woolf writes; "There is much to support the view that it is clothes that wear us and not we them; we may make them take the mould of arm or breast, but they would mould our hearts, our brains, our tongues to their liking."
This years production is a take on what our clothes say; or better yet, what we think they say. Who do we allow to speak for us in our dress?....ourselves?....a designer?....our peers?......is it a shared language?....mutually agreed upon?
Here we are....all dressed....speaking....without saying a word. We're so glad that you are all here and we're glad that you wore clothes. Thank you for the conversation.
