Leah Bradford-Smart
General Manager
I have my BA in Theatre from the University of Middlesex. During my education in the world of theatre I have worked with many amazing artists and companies. such as the dynamic and physical company Kaos along with Le coq trained mime company, Unclassified Mime.
I was dancer at the Laban connects festival at the Royal festival hall London and have performed in multiple dance festivals as a contemporary dancer in the UK. I have trained with Richard Alston along with the Cholmondeleys and Featherstonehaughs.
My first attempt at the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland (the world’s largest fringe festival) came during my 2nd year at university when I took a self funded and produced performance of lee Hall's (Billy Elliot) Spoonface Steinberg. This one woman show was an astounding success receiving rave reviews and resulting in the offer of a regional tour of the UK and an extension of my run at the venue. However, I was unable to capitalize on the two later options due to finance and scheduling conflicts.
Having toured extensively around the UK with TIE tours (Theatre In Education tours) with Pyramid productions, Matthew Townsend productions and Mirror people productions, I decided to take my theatre administrative and management skills to Europe and toured extensively through Italy with Theatrino, one of the largest children’s touring theatre companies in Europe. There, I forged a knowledge of Forum theatre and it’s proactive techniques.
I have worked with many productions over the years gaining experience and knowledge in marketing, grant applications and fundraising.
I believe in “diversity with integrity” and look forward to applying my skills and experience as the General Manager for Theatre Terrific towards that goal.
